Hey y’all,
A little housekeeping before we get to the good news: Along the Way is moving to Sundays, starting tomorrow.
That’ll be our regular time to catch up, visit someplace interesting, and meet the people I’ve been finding out on the road. So if you’re looking for it tonight, you haven’t missed anything. We’re just moving our visit over a day.
There’s a lot I want to bring you: community festivals, local history, people keeping old traditions alive, and folks who can turn a simple conversation into a pretty good story.
You may have noticed Your Home & Garden joining The Coffman Chronicle, too. I think there’s room around here for a garden tip, a hometown adventure, and a story worth sitting still for. Sometimes knowing your country starts with getting to know your neighbors.
And speaking of neighbors showing up for somebody…
You helped me make the Top 15 in my group in the Top Host competition!
Voting opened October 5. We made it through the first cut into the top 20, and now we’ve made it through another. If you’ve voted, shared the link, or reminded somebody else to vote, thank you. Those little things add up.
Next comes the top 10, with voting for that cut closing Thursday, October 29.
The grand prize includes $25,000, a six-episode podcast produced by iHeartRadio, and a guest appearance on On Air with Ryan Seacrest. That would be quite an opportunity for a fellow who spends a fair amount of his time telling stories about two boys getting into trouble around the Lake of the Ozarks.
My hope is to use that opportunity to introduce more people to the storytelling we’re building here—and give Five Minutes in America a chance to become part of more people’s day.
Would you help me take the next step?
