Anthropic Gets SpaceX Colossus Capacity to Expand Claude Code Usage Limits
SpaceX will lease its Colossus 1 artificial intelligence data center to Anthropic, giving the Claude maker a major boost in computing capacity as demand for AI coding tools grows.
Reuters reported that the Memphis, Tennessee facility includes more than 220,000 Nvidia processors and will provide Anthropic with 300 megawatts of new capacity within a month. Anthropic said the added capacity will help it double Claude Code rate limits for paid plans, remove peak-hour caps for Pro and Max users, and increase request limits for Claude Opus models.

The deal is notable because Elon Musk had previously criticized Anthropic, but Reuters reported that he praised the company’s work after meeting with its leaders.
The practical consequence is simple: Anthropic gets more compute for Claude users, while SpaceX gets a major customer for its AI infrastructure push.
