When Elon Musk made a similarly questionable salute at a Trump rally, the media twisted themselves into pretzels to explain it away. “Oh, he was just adjusting his stance!” Yeah, and I guess David Duke was just a misunderstood fashion icon. Meanwhile, white supremacists celebrated him, regardless of intent.
