Bill Gates Tells Congress Epstein Meetings Were a Grave Error in Judgment
Bill Gates appeared before the House Oversight Committee for a closed-door interview about his past relationship with Jeffrey Epstein, placing one of the world’s most recognizable billionaires at the center of Congress’ continuing Epstein files investigation.
According to prepared remarks reported by ABC News, Gates told lawmakers he “never victimized anyone,” never visited Epstein’s island, ranch or Florida home, and now views meeting Epstein as a “grave error in judgment.” Gates has said the relationship centered on philanthropy and donor discussions.

The hearing matters because Gates is not the only high-profile figure facing renewed scrutiny. Epstein-related files have also drawn attention to powerful names in politics, finance and public life, including Bill Clinton, former Prince Andrew, Larry Summers and Leon Black, all of whom have denied wrongdoing.
Public distrust remains intense. A Reuters/Ipsos poll found broad skepticism that powerful people connected to Epstein have been held accountable.
