California AG Bonta Exposes Amazon “Price Fixing” Scheme Targeting Rival Retailers
Amazon is facing renewed accusations that it quietly pushed prices higher across the internet, not lower.

Officials say Amazon used its market power to monitor prices and penalize sellers who offered cheaper deals elsewhere, including removing key sales visibility.
Amazon denies the claims and says it works to keep prices low, while the case moves toward a 2027 trial.
This isn’t the first time the company has faced scrutiny.
A separate federal lawsuit filed by the FTC and multiple states accused Amazon of inflating prices and restricting competition across its marketplace.
Now regulators are trying to prove whether one of the world’s largest retailers shaped pricing far beyond its own platform.
