CBP Supervisor Arrested in Texas for Harboring Undocumented Immigrant Who Was Also His Niece
A Customs and Border Protection supervisor in Texas was arrested this week on federal criminal charges alleging he harbored an undocumented immigrant living in his home and who authorities say was also his niece, according to Justice Department officials.
The case has raised concerns about potential abuse of authority within an agency tasked with enforcing the nation’s immigration laws. Prosecutors say the supervisor knew the woman was in the U.S. unlawfully yet continued to support her.
According to a Justice Department press release, 52-year-old Andres Wilkinson, who has worked for CBP since 2001 and became a supervisor in 2021, was arrested and charged with harboring an illegal alien in his Laredo, Texas, residence.
Investigators allege the woman entered the United States on a temporary visa in August 2023 and later overstayed her authorized stay. Law enforcement conducted surveillance at Wilkinson’s home between June and November 2025, observing the woman and her minor child residing there with him.

Court documents detail that Wilkinson provided the woman with housing, financial support, credit cards, access to vehicles, and allegedly transported her through Border Patrol checkpoints, despite knowing of her immigration status.
Authorities further say records indicate the woman is the daughter of a man Wilkinson listed as his brother, making her his niece, though the precise family connection is still being clarified in filings.
“Based on the complaint, there is probable cause that Wilkinson brought in, harbored, and concealed an alien in violation of federal law,” prosecutors said.
If convicted, Wilkinson faces up to 10 years in federal prison and a possible $250,000 fine.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office in the Southern District of Texas is prosecuting the case, and a detention hearing is expected next week.
