Charlie Kirk’s Former Security Chief Sues Candace Owens for Defamation
Brian Harpole, Charlie Kirk’s former security chief, has filed a federal defamation lawsuit against Candace Owens, accusing the commentator and others of spreading false claims that tied him to Kirk’s assassination.
The complaint, filed in the Middle District of Tennessee, names Owens, Candace Owens LLC, GeorgeTom Inc. and Mitchell Snow as defendants. Harpole alleges Owens used her podcast and social media platforms to amplify claims that he had foreknowledge of, participated in, or helped cover up Kirk’s killing. The allegations have not been proven in court.
The filing seeks damages, a jury trial and an injunction requiring removal of allegedly defamatory statements.
Owens has responded by arguing Harpole became a public figure in the controversy and saying she repeatedly stated she could not confirm whether Snow saw Harpole.
The case now turns an online conspiracy dispute into a federal defamation fight.
