Chicago-to-Minneapolis United Flight Diverted After Cockpit Security Incident
A United Airlines flight traveling from Chicago to Minneapolis was diverted to Madison, Wisconsin after a passenger allegedly attempted to breach the cockpit during the flight, prompting a law-enforcement response and federal investigation.
United Flight 2005 landed safely Friday night at Dane County Regional Airport. According to airline and law-enforcement statements, the passenger was restrained and later detained after the aircraft landed. No injuries were reported among the 147 passengers and six crew members onboard. The FBI said agents responded alongside local authorities after being notified of the diversion. The flight later continued to Minneapolis.
