Erika Kirk Says She “Prayed” She Was Pregnant When Husband Charlie Kirk Was Killed

Erika Kirk says one of her first thoughts after the assassination of her husband, conservative activist Charlie Kirk, was hoping she was already pregnant with their third child.

In a recent interview, she said the couple had planned to have four children and that, in the hours after his killing, she found herself wishing they had already begun that next chapter. She called the idea of a new baby “the ultimate blessing” in the middle of the tragedy.

Charlie Kirk was fatally shot on September 10, 2025, while appearing at an event at Utah Valley University. The couple had two young children at the time of his death.

Erika has since taken over as CEO and chair of Turning Point USA, the organization her husband founded. She also urged young couples not to delay starting a family, saying careers can wait but time with children cannot.

The criminal case against the suspected shooter is ongoing. Erika has not publicly confirmed whether she is pregnant.
