Federal Judge Halts Deportation Push in Boulder Firebombing Case
A federal judge in Texas ordered ICE to release the family of a man accused in a deadly Boulder firebombing, escalating a legal clash over immigration enforcement and due process.
According to CBS News Colorado, U.S. District Judge Fred Biery ruled that the suspect’s wife and five children must be immediately released from a Texas detention center and cannot be deported from the region.
The family had been held for months after Mohamed Sabry Soliman was accused of carrying out a 2025 Molotov cocktail attack that killed one person and injured more than a dozen, according to multiple reports.

Officials argued the family was subject to removal due to immigration violations, but the court found grounds to allow their release while legal proceedings continue.
The government has already filed objections, signaling a likely appeal and extending the legal fight over how far authorities can go in detaining relatives of criminal suspects.
The case is now shaping into a broader test of immigration powers tied to high-profile criminal cases.
