Fox News Contributor Joins NewsNation to Host New 10p.m. Prime-Time Show in Early 2026
Katie Pavlich, the conservative political commentator known for her long run as a Fox News contributor, is making a major career move to anchor a nightly 10 p.m. ET show on NewsNation starting early 2026, according to network announcements and reporting by the Los Angeles Times.
The shift marks a significant change for the Nexstar-owned cable news channel, which is expanding its primetime political lineup in response to viewer demand for more news analysis and debate. Pavlich’s appointment comes amid broader programming shifts at NewsNation, where traditional news formats have given way to more personality-driven hours.
NewsNation confirmed Pavlich will step into the 10 p.m. hour previously held by Ashleigh Banfield, who led that slot since 2021. Under the new plan, Banfield will remain with the network but transition into leading NewsNation’s true crime digital vertical, including development of related podcast content.
Pavlich, 37, built her reputation as a conservative voice with frequent appearances on Fox programs and guest-hosting duties on shows including The Five. She also spent 16 years as news editor of conservative site Townhall.com.

“I am honored to join NewsNation during this dynamic period in its development,” Pavlich said in a network statement, calling the opportunity “an exceptional privilege.”
NewsNation president Sean Compton said Pavlich’s addition will help the channel deliver “an additional hour of political news and analysis that helps viewers make sense of the day’s most important headlines.”
The change reflects NewsNation’s continued efforts to compete with established cable news rivals by diversifying its primetime voices and blending hard news with political discussion. The network’s schedule through the evening will now include established programs at 7 p.m. and 8 p.m., followed by Pavlich’s new show at 10 p.m.
NewsNation has not yet announced an exact premiere date for the Pavlich show. The network says further details on format and guests will be released in the coming weeks.
