Fox News Poll: 76% of Voters Say the Economy is in Bad Shape
A new Fox News poll taken November 14–17 shows a deep national pessimism about the economy. In the survey of 1,005 registered voters (±3 points), 76% said the nation’s economic conditions are negative, while only 25% described them as positive.

When asked about their own situation, Americans were somewhat less bleak but still underwater. Sixty percent rated their personal finances as negative, compared to 40% who said their situation is positive. That gap suggests voters feel the national picture is worse than what’s happening in their own households — but neither view is strong.
The poll also highlights what’s driving the frustration. Majorities reported rising costs in core expenses, including groceries, utilities, housing, and healthcare. Pollsters noted that concerns about affordability are now a dominant issue for voters, cutting across party lines.
Economic sentiment has become increasingly tied to political attitudes, and Fox News’ polling team said voters are more likely to cite financial pressure as a top concern heading into 2026. While the survey doesn’t measure confidence in specific policies, the numbers signal that economic mood remains a major headwind for whoever is in power.
The results match the data shown in the Fox News graphic, reflecting a clear takeaway: Americans see a struggling national economy, and most feel their own financial footing isn’t strong either.
