Fulshear Homeowner Mistakes Alligator for Amazon Package Before Police Remove Animal
A homeowner in Fulshear, Texas, received a surprise delivery this week when what appeared to be an Amazon package on his front porch turned out to be an alligator.
Body-camera footage released by the Fulshear Police Department shows officers responding to a home where a small alligator had settled near the front entrance. As officers approached, the homeowner explained how the encounter began.
“I thought it was an Amazon package,” the homeowner said after accidentally bumping the reptile with a screen door.
Officers were able to safely capture the animal and later release it into nearby water, according to reports based on the police footage. No injuries were reported.
The story has attracted significant attention online because of the combination of body-camera footage, suburban setting, and the homeowner’s unexpected explanation. Posts sharing the video have generated widespread discussion across Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and news aggregation platforms.

For Houston-area readers, the encounter also reflects a broader reality. Fulshear sits within one of the fastest-growing parts of the Houston metropolitan area, where residential development increasingly overlaps with natural habitats used by alligators and other wildlife.
While the incident ended without injury, officials routinely advise residents not to approach alligators and to contact authorities when wildlife is found in residential areas.
The video’s blend of humor, public safety, and unmistakable Texas flavor has helped make it one of the more widely shared local wildlife stories of the week.
