Gas Prices Drop to $3.05 as Thanksgiving Travel Hits Record Levels

Prices are now lower than the $3.20–$3.70 range seen from 2022 through 2024 and well below the late-2021 peak above $3.40. Analysts attribute the decline to cheaper crude oil, strong refinery output, and softer demand following summer.
Gas costs still vary sharply by region. Oklahoma averages about $2.50, while California remains above $4.60.
AAA says the drop should put extra money back in drivers’ pockets as the holiday rush begins.
