Graham Platner Denies Ex-Girlfriend's Allegations as Pressure Builds in Key Senate Race
Democratic Senate candidate Graham Platner is pushing back against a new wave of allegations from former partners that have intensified scrutiny of one of the country’s most closely watched Senate campaigns.
According to reporting published Thursday, former girlfriend Lyndsey Fifield accused Platner of physically intimidating behavior during their relationship and challenged his explanation regarding a tattoo resembling the Nazi-linked Totenkopf symbol.
Platner denied the allegations, saying claims of abuse are false and politically motivated. He also rejected suggestions that he knowingly chose a Nazi-associated symbol when he received the tattoo years ago while serving in the military.
The allegations come only days after reports that Platner exchanged sexually explicit messages with several women shortly after getting married. Platner acknowledged sending the messages but has said those issues were addressed within his marriage.

The controversy is evolving beyond isolated incidents. Democratic leaders, activists, and political observers are increasingly debating whether Platner remains the party’s strongest candidate in a race viewed as critical to Senate control.
The reaction has exposed divisions inside Democratic circles. Some elected officials have questioned whether Platner should continue his campaign, while supporters argue voters should judge him based on his current conduct rather than his past mistakes.
The result is a campaign increasingly defined by questions about character, accountability, and electability as primary voters prepare to make their decision.
