Growing Revolt: White House Faces Crumbling Support as Anti-War Protests Spread Nationwide
Activist groups across the United States are planning a Dec. 6 National Day of Action under the banner “No War on Venezuela — Stop the War Before It Starts,” as concerns grow over escalating U.S. military activity near Venezuelan waters.

Organizers say demonstrations will take place in dozens of cities, including New York, Washington, D.C., Chicago, Los Angeles, and Miami. The mobilization is being led by a coalition of anti-war organizations, including ANSWER Coalition, CODEPINK, The People’s Forum, and several Latin American diaspora groups.
The protest call comes days after U.S. forces conducted airstrikes on small vessels in the region as part of what the administration describes as a counter-narcotics campaign. Venezuelan officials have denounced the strikes as illegal and escalatory, while the country’s National Assembly has launched an investigation.
Organizers argue the administration is laying the groundwork for a broader military confrontation. They warn that without public pressure, the United States could become entangled in a conflict with potentially severe humanitarian and geopolitical consequences.
U.S. officials have not confirmed any plans for additional strikes or troop deployments, and maintain that recent operations target narcotics trafficking rather than Venezuelan state assets. But activists say the pattern of activity is enough to trigger urgent mobilization.
Rallies scheduled for Saturday will call on Congress to block any unilateral military escalation and demand full transparency regarding U.S. operations in the region.
The protests begin Saturday morning, with organizers encouraging participants to check local event listings for start times.
