Hodgepodge article, video, and deep dive edition!

Food or Care? Pick One, Says the GOP
The Republican plan to reopen the government comes with a bonus: the slow eradication of reproductive care. They’re holding ACA subsidies hostage unless insurers scrub abortion from their plans, even if women pay out of pocket. This isn’t Hyde Amendment clarity; it’s reproductive sabotage via budget blackmail. And if you think it stops at abortion, think again. Miscarriage management? Fertility treatments? PCOS meds? All collateral damage. They’re telling families to pick between eating and healing, then pretending it’s fiscal responsibility. In reality, it’s extremism with a spreadsheet.
Pennsylvania Parents to Extremists: Get the Hell Out of the Classroom
Turns out banning books and yelling about “Marxist math” isn’t a great strategy for running schools. In a midterm miracle, Pennsylvania voters kicked Moms for Liberty and their censorship crusaders straight out of the school board seats they hijacked. Pine-Richland? Flipped. Bucks County? Flipped. The message? Teach the kids, shut up about drag queens. This was a grassroots rebellion with handwritten signs, not billionaire-funded screaming matches. Turns out parents want education, not culture-war cosplay.

Video Shorttake: Trump to Air Traffic Controllers, Work for Free, Peasants
Donald Trump — patron saint of unpaid contractors — outdid himself this week by telling America’s air traffic controllers to “go f*** themselves” for not working for free during the shutdown. Then he promised a fake $10,000 bonus to those who did, with no plan to pay it (unless “someplace” counts as a fiscal strategy). So the guy with 34 felony counts and a Mar-a-Lago minibar lectured essential workers about hardship. Apparently, when it comes to governing, Trump prefers the rules of bankruptcy court: promise everything, deliver nothing, stiff everyone.

Enjoy That Shrimp Cocktail. It Was Inspected by Nobody
While Republicans rail against regulation, here’s what deregulation by starvation actually looks like: tainted shrimp from uninspected overseas factories making their way into your local grocery store. Trump budget cuts have left FDA inspectors grounded, foreign food checks decimated, and the seafood aisle basically running on vibes. It’s cheaper for corporations, deadlier for you, and all part of a grand plan to prove government doesn’t work by gutting it until it doesn’t. Bon appétit.

Deep Dive: The Real Danger Isn’t Weed. It’s Who Profits from Fear.
The GOP is coming for hemp like it’s 1937 all over again, because nothing says “small government” like criminalizing a carbon-eating, soil-saving plant to protect Big Alcohol, Big Pharma, and petrochemical billionaires from a little healthy competition. While the Supreme Court gears up to decide whether cannabis users are too “irresponsible” for gun rights (but somehow beer guzzlers are fine), Congress slipped a hemp ban into the government funding bill so quietly you could miss it, unless you’re a farmer, processor, or anyone whose livelihood depends on this miracle crop. It’s not about safety. It’s not about kids. It’s about power. Hemp threatens industries that own Washington, so they’re kneecapping it before it can grow into anything disruptive, like, say, a sustainable future. Prohibition 2.0 is here, and this time it’s wrapped in faux concern and legislative sleight of hand.
Your government is under siege by ideology, your economy’s being dismantled for donor profit, and your food might actually kill you, but don’t worry, they’ve got plenty of time to argue about weed and whiteboards in schools.
So keep your head up, your browser tabs open, and your middle fingers limber. Because if there’s one thing these jackals hate more than regulation, it’s accountability.
Until next week —
Stay mad. Stay loud. And show the oligarchy you’re still watching.

Can someone tell me why The Tony Michaels Podcast is no longer populating on my podcast feed? The last one was nearly a month ago now. I miss my woke redneck. I see him on YouTube so I know he's not in the gulags yet. But I dont prefer YouTube as much as podcasts
