Iran Pushes Back on Trump’s 15-Point Deal as Friday Response Deadline Hits
Iran is expected to respond Friday to a U.S. peace proposal aimed at ending the ongoing war, but early signals suggest trouble.
According to CBS News, Tehran’s official reply to the 15-point framework—delivered through Pakistan—had not yet arrived as of Friday morning, even as U.S. officials expressed cautious optimism.
But that optimism clashes with earlier reporting. Reuters says Iran’s initial reaction was “not positive,” with officials calling the proposal “one-sided” and unacceptable in its current form.
The plan reportedly asks Iran to scale back military and nuclear capabilities in exchange for sanctions relief, a condition Iranian leaders have resisted.
At the same time, mediators say Iran has not committed to negotiations and continues to push back on key demands.
That leaves the expected response as a critical moment, with uncertainty over whether it will move talks forward or confirm a deeper stalemate.
