Iran Security Chief Threatens Trump After “20 Times Harder” War Warning
A senior Iranian security official has issued a direct warning to President Donald Trump after the U.S. leader threatened massive retaliation over disruptions to global oil routes.
Ali Larijani, secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, told Trump to “beware” and dismissed the president’s warnings as “empty threats,” according to reporting from Axios and other outlets.
The exchange followed a post from Trump warning that if Iran interferes with oil shipping in the Strait of Hormuz, the U.S. would respond “TWENTY TIMES HARDER” and unleash “Death, Fire, and Fury.”

The rhetoric comes as the broader conflict between Iran and a U.S.–Israel coalition intensifies across the Middle East. Recent strikes have reportedly targeted thousands of sites inside Iran while regional attacks continue to spread.
Energy markets and global security officials are watching closely because the Strait of Hormuz is one of the world’s most important oil transit chokepoints.
Neither side has signaled a willingness to de-escalate, leaving the situation volatile.
