Israel Launches Massive Lebanon Assault As Trump Iran Truce Takes Hold
Israel launched its most intense wave of airstrikes across Lebanon just hours after a U.S.–Iran ceasefire paused a wider regional war, raising immediate questions about what the deal actually covers.
According to Reuters and The Guardian, Israeli forces struck more than 100 targets across Beirut and other areas, killing dozens even as Hezbollah reportedly paused its own attacks under the ceasefire.
Israel says the agreement brokered by President Trump applies only to Iran, not Lebanon. But Pakistan’s prime minister and Lebanese officials say the deal was meant to include Lebanon, exposing a major contradiction at the center of the truce.
