Israel Strike Kills 3 Journalists in Lebanon as Targeting Dispute Erupts
An Israeli airstrike in southern Lebanon has killed multiple journalists, but whether they were intentionally targeted remains unresolved.
According to Reuters, the strike hit a vehicle near Jezzine, killing at least two and possibly three journalists working for Al-Manar and Al-Mayadeen. Lebanese officials identified the victims as media workers and condemned the attack as a violation of international law.
But conflicting claims quickly surfaced.
Israeli-linked reporting stated that one of those killed was also a Hezbollah operative, raising questions about whether the vehicle was considered a legitimate military target.
Reuters noted there was no immediate comment from the Israeli military, leaving the circumstances and intent of the strike unclear.
The incident comes amid escalating cross-border fighting, where previous strikes involving journalists and medics have drawn scrutiny and competing narratives.
Whether this was a deliberate strike on journalists or a disputed battlefield decision is likely to face further investigation.
