Jake Lang Faces Fallout After Sting Shows Messages to “15-Year-Old” Decoy
Jake Lang is facing new scrutiny after videos surfaced online claiming he was caught in a “catch-a-predator” style sting while messaging someone he believed to be a 15-year-old girl.
The footage and screenshots spread quickly across social media, raising questions about whether the interaction could trigger legal consequences or remain an internet-driven scandal.
According to reporting by The Bulwark, the messages were part of a sting conducted by an online vigilante using a fake profile posing as a high school student.
Screenshots published alongside the video show the decoy telling Lang she was “15,” while Lang allegedly continued the conversation and referred to the account with terms like “baby” and “sweetie.”
Lang later acknowledged the messages existed but claimed the conversation may have been written by someone on his “team.”

The situation is complicated by the fact that the operation appears to have been carried out by internet vigilantes rather than law enforcement, which can make potential criminal cases harder to pursue.
At the same time, the allegations arrive as Lang has remained a controversial figure since his role as a defendant connected to the January 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol and his later activism.
Whether the online sting leads to a formal investigation remains unclear, but the footage continues to circulate widely.
For now, the controversy around Lang is still unfolding.
