Jessica Reed Kraus Suggests Trump Won’t Criticize Ghislaine Maxwell Because He “Likes Her”

Kraus, known for her Substack “House Inhabit” and for her commentary on high-profile criminal cases, was asked whether Trump should consider commuting Maxwell’s sentence. In a clip circulating on social media, Kraus claims Trump “understands the story” and suggests he once had a personal connection to Maxwell.

“I don’t believe anyone in politics understands the story, and I think he does,” Kraus said. “He knows exactly what this was, and I do think he was friends with Ghislaine Maxwell. And I think he likes her — that’s why he won’t trash her.”
Kraus has built a large online following through long-form posts and podcast appearances, frequently positioning herself as an outsider voice with insight into cultural and political controversies. Her commentary on the Epstein–Maxwell network has drawn both attention and criticism, with some of her past posts sparking debate over her interpretations of the case.
Neither Trump nor his representatives have responded to the claim. Maxwell remains in federal custody after her 2021 conviction on charges related to the trafficking and abuse of minors connected to Jeffrey Epstein.
The discussion around a potential commutation is speculative, and no formal request or consideration has been announced by the Trump campaign or federal authorities.
