The tension comes from conflicting signals. Reports cited by outlets like Fox News say she is “stepping toward” a run, pointing to her book tour, Democratic Party appearances, and decision to skip a California governor bid.
At the same time, Harris continues to frame her plans as open-ended, telling interviewers she has “not made any decisions.”
Her potential candidacy also faces internal party questions. Analysts and political figures have raised concerns about her 2024 loss to Donald Trump and whether she can rebuild momentum in a crowded Democratic field.
