Lauren Boebert’s Son Cited Again on Child Abuse Charge After Grandson Walks Off Colorado Property
Rep. Lauren Boebert’s adult son, Tyler Boebert, 20, was cited again on a misdemeanor charge of child abuse without injury after his 2-year-old son wandered out of the congresswoman’s Windsor, Colorado, home, authorities confirmed.
This latest incident marks the second time in roughly seven months a similar situation has occurred involving Boebert’s grandson and has now resulted in formal legal action, raising fresh questions about supervision and legal accountability.
According to Windsor Police, the toddler wandered away from the home while Tyler was watching him. A neighbor intervened quickly, securing the child and notifying police, who then cited Tyler on a charge of child abuse without injury.

The congresswoman was not at the home during the incident; in a statement to local media, Boebert said there is “no excuse” for what happened and expressed how frustrating it is as a parent, underscoring her concern for her family’s wellbeing.
This isn’t Tyler’s first legal entanglement. In 2024 he faced a string of felony counts related to vehicle break-ins and property theft but ultimately entered a plea deal on attempted identity theft and was placed on probation.

Law enforcement has not released additional details about when the incident occurred or whether this newest citation affects Tyler’s existing probation terms.
A court appearance linked to the latest charge is reportedly scheduled for April, and authorities have yet to release further public comments about the investigation or outcome.
