Louisiana Police Confirm 8 Children Dead After Domestic Shooting Rampage
Eight children were killed in a mass shooting in Shreveport, Louisiana, in what police say may be one of the deadliest domestic-related attacks in recent years.
The violence unfolded early Sunday across multiple homes, raising urgent questions about how a single incident escalated across several locations.
According to the Associated Press and The Washington Post, at least 10 people were shot, with victims ranging in age from about 1 to 14. Two adult women survived with critical injuries after being shot in the head.
Police say the suspected gunman had ties to some of the victims and may have targeted family members. After the shootings, he fled by carjacking a vehicle, leading officers on a pursuit that ended with his death.

Authorities are still working to determine a motive, and the scale of the crime scene — spanning multiple residences — has complicated the investigation.
“This is an extensive scene unlike anything most of us have ever seen,” Shreveport Police said, according to reporting.
The case adds to a growing number of mass killings in 2026 and highlights the continued pattern of domestic-related gun violence involving multiple victims.
Investigators are now focused on reconstructing the timeline, identifying all victims, and confirming the suspect’s relationship to those killed.
Officials say more details, including identities and motive, are expected as the investigation continues.
