Lunden Roberts Asks Arkansas Judge to Incarcerate Hunter Biden for Child Support Violations
LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — Lunden Roberts, the mother of Hunter Biden’s 7-year-old daughter, has asked an Arkansas judge to reopen their child support case and consider jail time for the former first son, claiming he has repeatedly failed to honor a court-approved settlement. The renewed legal push comes as Roberts says her daughter is being emotionally harmed by Biden’s lack of contact.
Roberts’ motion, filed Jan. 13 in Independence County Circuit Court, argues that Biden has violated the 2023 agreement that set reduced monthly child support and obliged him to set aside proceeds from a specified number of his paintings for their daughter’s benefit. The filing asks the court to hold Biden in contempt and incarcerate him at the Independence County Detention Center until he complies with the order.
According to court records reviewed by news outlets, Biden initially engaged in scheduled calls with his daughter and made some effort to build a bond. But Roberts’ motion says that contact ceased in 2024, which she says has caused the child “emotional trauma” as she grows older and notices his absence.

The filing also seeks an increase in child support and alleges that Navy Joan Roberts is deprived of comparable support to her half-siblings. “Incarcerate him…as a civil penalty until he purges his contempt by complying with this court’s orders,” the motion reportedly states.
Why it matters — this latest legal escalation underscores continuing tensions in a high-profile family dispute and highlights the challenges courts face in enforcing personal support agreements, especially when they involve public figures.
The judge has not yet ruled on the incarceration request or the motion to reopen the case.
