Marjorie Taylor Greene Blasts MAGA Influencers Over Mocking Epstein Survivors, Sparking GOP Rift
Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene ignited a public war with MAGA influencers, conservative allies and even former President Donald Trump this week by blasting online mockery of sexual abuse and trafficking victims connected to the Jeffrey Epstein files. In a social post shared Sunday, Greene said mocking those abused as teenagers makes Republicans “look like cult fools.”
The clash quickly escalated into a broader GOP rift. Greene broke with MAGA hard-liners by co-sponsoring a discharge petition forcing a House vote to release unclassified Epstein documents — a move that enraged some conservative voices who dismiss the seriousness of Epstein’s crimes.
Greene has positioned herself as a defender of sexual violence survivors in the Epstein network, saying transparency is overdue and accountability is needed. But many MAGA influencers have mocked that stance online, prompting her recent rebuke. At the same time, Trump publicly withdrew his support for Greene, calling her a “traitor” over her push for the files and aggressive criticism of his handling of the matter.

This is more than a personal feud. The Epstein Files Transparency Act and related discharge petition have become a litmus test for GOP lawmakers, splitting those who want full release of hundreds of pages of federal records and those who downplay or dismiss the case’s political weight. With lawmakers on both sides of the aisle pushing for more disclosure, the issue has become a major flashpoint in the broader fight over government transparency and sexual abuse accountability.
Greene’s criticism of MAGA influencers and GOP leaders underscores deepening fractures in the conservative movement over how to address Epstein’s crimes and support survivors — an argument still unfolding on social media and in Congress.
