Melania Trump Denies Friendship After Maxwell Email and Getty Photos Resurface
Melania Trump is pushing back after a newly scrutinized 2002 email and old event photos renewed questions about her public-record ties to Ghislaine Maxwell and Jeffrey Epstein. The conflict is not whether they crossed paths. It is whether those records show a friendship or only the kind of social overlap common in New York and Palm Beach at the time.

According to AP, recently released Epstein-related files include a cordial email addressed to Maxwell and a photo showing Melania with Donald Trump, Epstein and Maxwell. Getty also documents Melania Knauss appearing with Maxwell at Mar-a-Lago in 2000 and at a New York event in 2002.
But Reuters reported that Melania said she was never friends with Epstein or Maxwell, met Epstein only once in 2000, and viewed the email as superficial. That leaves a narrow but important distinction at the center of the story: documented contact versus proven friendship.
For now, the public record confirms shared events, at least one warm email, and a fresh denial from the first lady. It does not, on its own, prove a close personal relationship.
