House Republicans are clashing over how to end the Department of Homeland Security shutdown, with some GOP aides blasting the Senate deal as a “s--- sandwich” while leadership struggles to secure votes.

The shutdown has now stretched to nearly seven weeks, leaving thousands of federal workers unpaid and disrupting airport security operations, Reuters and The Guardian report. While the Senate already passed a compromise, the House has yet to act.
The conflict is largely internal. Some Republicans want to pass the deal and move ICE funding separately, while others refuse to move forward without guarantees.
Trump has attempted to ease pressure by ordering DHS workers paid, but the funding fight remains unresolved and the House is now the key obstacle.
