Ms Rachel Cites Jesus — and Insists LGBTQ+ Inclusion Belongs in Her Christian Classroom
YouTube educator Rachel Griffin-Accurso — better known as Ms Rachel — recently reaffirmed that she sees LGBTQ+ inclusion as central to her Christian faith. On December 4, she shared an Instagram graphic stating that “everyone” is welcome in her classroom, explicitly referencing trans, gay and nonbinary people among those she embraces.

In the accompanying caption, she wrote: “Also I’m Christian… and I feel in my soul and my prayers (and Jesus’s example) no one is to be excluded.”
The message builds on her prior public support for LGBTQ+ people — including a Pride-Month video in 2024 — which drew sharp criticism from some conservative parents and commentators.
After the backlash, Ms Rachel posted a response video that rooted her inclusive stance directly in Christian teaching. She cited the gospel passage Matthew 22, where Jesus replies that the greatest commandment is to love God and “love your neighbor as yourself.” She said, “There is no ‘except’ in ‘love your neighbor.’”
Critics argue her approach misinterprets biblical definitions of sexuality and morality — contending that affirming LGBTQ+ identities conflicts with their reading of “biblical love.”
Nevertheless, Ms Rachel is standing by her message. She says her goal is to treat everyone — regardless of identity — with empathy and respect. “I stand strong in love,” she told NBC News, acknowledging some former viewers said they wouldn’t watch her content anymore because of her stance.
With over a million followers among parents of toddlers, Ms Rachel’s affirmation could signal a growing moment: a public Christian voice linking traditional faith with LGBTQ+ inclusion.
What happens next may depend on how her audience — and the broader Christian community — responds to her inclusive interpretation.
