MTG Claims ‘High-Up’ Trump Officials Oppose Iran War as White House Rift Grows
Former Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene says opposition to President Donald Trump’s war with Iran may be growing inside the administration itself.
In a CNN interview Monday, Greene claimed that senior officials privately disagree with the conflict but have not publicly broken with the president.
The former Georgia congresswoman said she has spoken with people “high up in the administration” who oppose the war but are staying silent for now.
Greene declined to identify any officials by name.
Her comments come as the Iran conflict continues to escalate and political pressure builds inside Trump’s broader political coalition.

According to reporting cited in coverage of the war, Vice President JD Vance previously expressed reservations about launching military action against Iran before the strikes began.
Greene suggested the ongoing war could damage Vance politically if it continues without a clear resolution.
“There are people in the administration, high up in the administration, I know that don’t support this,” Greene said during the CNN interview.
The conflict has already produced significant consequences abroad and at home.
Reporting cited in coverage of the war estimates more than 1,300 deaths in Iran along with the deaths of 13 U.S. service members, while disruptions to shipping routes and energy markets have pushed oil prices above $100 a barrel and increased U.S. gasoline prices.

Greene has also argued the war contradicts the “America First” foreign policy approach that many Trump supporters associated with the MAGA movement.
The disagreement reflects broader tensions inside the conservative coalition, where some figures support a hardline military strategy while others argue the conflict risks becoming another long foreign war.
For now, the White House has not publicly confirmed internal dissent at the level Greene described.
But if the war continues and divisions inside Trump’s political movement deepen, the pressure on administration officials to clarify their positions could increase.
