Netanyahu Admits Secret Cancer Treatment After Delaying Disclosure 2 Months
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu revealed he quietly underwent treatment for prostate cancer, but the timing and secrecy are raising questions.
According to Reuters and NBC-affiliated reports, Netanyahu said the cancer was discovered during a routine checkup after his 2024 prostate surgery. He described it as early-stage and confirmed it was treated with targeted radiation.
The complication: he waited about two months to disclose it.
Netanyahu said the delay was intentional, citing concerns that Iran could use the information as propaganda during an active conflict. Reports also note that false claims about his death were already circulating during that period.

Doctors confirmed the tumor was small, under one centimeter, and had not spread. Netanyahu said the treatment “left no trace” of cancer and that he continued working throughout.
The delayed disclosure is now drawing attention as Israel remains engaged in high-stakes regional tensions, with questions emerging about transparency during wartime leadership.
