Netanyahu Orders 100+ Lebanon Strikes After Trump Iran Ceasefire Deal
Israel launched its largest wave of airstrikes across Lebanon just hours after a U.S.–Iran ceasefire took effect, raising new questions about what the deal actually covers.
The strikes hit more than 100 targets across Beirut and other areas, killing dozens while Hezbollah reportedly paused its own attacks under the same agreement.
According to Reuters, Lebanon’s health ministry confirmed mass casualties and overwhelmed hospitals as Israeli forces carried out what officials described as the biggest coordinated assault of the war.
Israel’s government says the ceasefire brokered by President Donald Trump applies only to Iran, not Hezbollah or Lebanon, despite conflicting claims from Pakistan and Lebanese leaders who say the truce was meant to extend further.

A political analyst told Al Jazeera the deal is “uncertain in scope and implementation.”
That contradiction has left a partial ceasefire in place, where U.S. and Iranian strikes have paused while Israeli operations in Lebanon intensify, increasing pressure on civilians already facing mass displacement.
More than 1.2 million people have been forced from their homes since March, according to Reuters, as European leaders push to expand the ceasefire and prevent further escalation.
Talks are expected to continue in Islamabad, but without clarity on Lebanon’s status, the fighting there shows no sign of slowing.
The region now faces a ceasefire that pauses one front while another continues to expand.
