New Records Show Renee Good Still Alive When ICE Blocked Medic Access in Minneapolis
Minneapolis officials confirmed new records show Renee Good was still alive on scene when federal officers blocked a medic after she was shot by an ICE agent, intensifying scrutiny of the Jan. 7 deadly encounter.
Tensions have soared in Minnesota as the public digests documents and video suggesting emergency medical help was impeded in the chaotic minutes after the shooting.
According to newly obtained emergency response reports, Good was initially found unresponsive and not breathing but with an irregular pulse by local medics who reached her vehicle minutes after the ICE agent fired. Bystander video shows a man identifying himself as a physician asking to check her pulse and being rebuffed by federal officers who told him “we have our own medics.”

“There was an opportunity to provide immediate care that was not allowed,” said one witness describing the scene to reporters.
Fire department incident reports describe multiple gunshot wounds to Good’s body, including two to her chest and others to her arm and possibly head. The chaotic aftermath and conflicting official narratives have fueled protests and calls for accountability as critics challenge whether blockade of medics contributed to her death.
Local leaders have demanded transparency and an independent inquiry, even as federal and state investigations continue amid political contention.
What we could see next…
