Police Investigate After 6 Bodies Found in Laredo Union Pacific Rail Yard
Six people were found dead inside a cargo train boxcar at a Union Pacific rail yard in Laredo, Texas, according to police and Associated Press reporting.
Authorities said the bodies were discovered Sunday after workers at the rail yard near the U.S.-Mexico border found people inside the railcar. Officials have not yet publicly identified the victims or confirmed how they died.
The investigation is unfolding in one of the busiest freight corridors between the United States and Mexico. Laredo serves as a major commercial gateway for rail and cargo traffic crossing the border each day.

Police have not said whether foul play is suspected or whether the deaths may be connected to migration activity or dangerous conditions inside the railcar.
The incident is likely to draw broader attention because of the location near the border and the use of a freight train boxcar, which has been linked in past cases to deadly transport conditions.
Authorities said the investigation remains active.
