Tariffs are taxes. Period. These taxes will be paid by anyone who buys things. - So far, there's been no effort to remove taxes on tips, no effort to provide a "DOGE dividend", no effort to cut middle class taxes - just Tariffs (higher taxes) and cuts to social programs. Plus, increased unemployment thanks to huge firings in various government departments. And - future unemployment as program cuts mean less funds flowing to private sector providers of goods and services.
I just commented before I saw yours. Yes, no one is calling it that Trump just raised taxes on all of us. That soundbite needs to be in every ear in America daily
YES! It's the Trump Tax Hike. And he seems to be adding new taxes everyday. Trump's raising taxes on cars, on food, on consumer goods - his penchant for taxing seems to know no bounds. What's more insidious, he's raising taxes while cutting services - we're paying more but getting less. (Dept of Ed, Medicaid, Consumer Bureau, etc.)
What I don't hear, even in this article, is that it's a win for Trump because he just effectively raised taxes on all Americans (the tariffs go to the government) without being called out for raising taxes.
They changed the way days are counted on the calendar for this purpose. Most of the tariffs in question went into effect Mar 1. We're past the deadline.
FFKS! It just keeps getting worse by the minute!

If the rest of the year is just one day, they should only be paid for one day.

@Andy Spears mentions the same in his comment on this thread
Elected Republicans are complicit.

But some of the tariffs are still within the 15 day timeline right?
I think they changed the rule so the calendar never starts on any of them
