Senate GOP Plan Would Fund ICE and CBP Through 2029, With $1 Billion for Secret Service Upgrades
Senate Republicans have proposed a roughly $72 billion spending package that would direct tens of billions of dollars to immigration enforcement, border security and law enforcement, while setting aside $1 billion for Secret Service security upgrades tied to President Donald Trump’s East Wing Modernization Project.
Roll Call reported the combined reconciliation package would include about $38.2 billion for Immigration and Customs Enforcement, more than $26 billion for Customs and Border Protection, $5 billion for other border and immigration-related efforts, $1.5 billion for the Justice Department and $1 billion for Secret Service upgrades.

Democrats are attacking the bill as misplaced spending at a time when households remain focused on costs. Rep. Rosa DeLauro and Sen. Jeff Merkley both criticized the package, tying it to Trump’s ballroom project and expanded enforcement funding.
Republicans say the East Wing money is for security, not ballroom construction. The dispute now moves into the reconciliation process.
