This administration has done this on purpose to privatize it. USPS has always been a service not a business. Here’s just something else the regime can suck the life out of and the American people. REVOLUTION!

It is a service. It's mandated in the US Constitution. tRump and the cons have no regard for the Constitution.

Nice review of the issue. USPS still provides the same essential national service it has provided since Benjamin Franklin created it in 1775.

Treat the Post Office as a national service and fund it completely with postage set to cover the fixed expenses and labor. Start a postal bank with online services and charge a realistic amount fo last mile delivery for mercandise.

Biden had a chance to make a change of postmaster general before leaving office, but chose not to do so. On top of that, he had a respected former cabinet official who wanted the job, and was well qualified for it. Trump wants to privatize it. Guess why? There's $$ to be had and to be made by doing so!

Reliable mail service is one of the important functions of a democracy. We must maintain ours.

Thanks for the thorough coverage of the problems of the Post Office. I agree that it should be considered an essential service, and I never agreed with it becoming operated as a business and privatized. We need to return to it being a government provided service, and the Post Office needs to return to postmarking when they receive mail —not when they process it!
