Small Plane Crashes Off Vero Beach; All 11 Aboard Rescued From Life Raft
Eleven people survived after a small plane crashed into the Atlantic Ocean off Florida’s east coast, spending about five hours on a life raft before rescue crews reached them.
The Beechcraft 300 King Air turboprop had departed Marsh Harbour in the Bahamas and was headed toward Grand Bahama International Airport when it suffered engine failure, according to The Associated Press. The pilot ditched the aircraft roughly 50 miles east of Vero Beach, Florida, and got all 10 passengers onto a raft.
