The group’s annual contest—now in its seventh year—invites the public to vote for their top three choices through December 12, according to the organization’s website. The finalists include a mix of media figures, entertainers, activists, and political commentators: Tucker Carlson, Ms. Rachel, Guy Christensen, Marcia Cross, Bryce Mitchell, Cynthia Nixon, Cenk Uygur, Ana Kasparian, Stew Peters, and Calla Walsh.
The campaign is one of StopAntisemitism’s most visible public efforts, though the group’s designations are not official or legal labels. The organization uses its own internal criteria for selecting nominees, and past lists have regularly drawn controversy for what critics say are politically driven or overly broad interpretations of antisemitism.
Last year’s winner was commentator Candace Owens, who was announced as the 2024 “Antisemite of the Year.” Previous honorees include Roger Waters, Kanye West, and Mohammed El-Kurd.
This year’s list triggered immediate backlash online. Many users questioned the inclusion of children’s entertainer Ms. Rachel, while others argued that notable figures frequently accused of antisemitism—such as far-right streamer Nick Fuentes—were absent. Some responses accused the group of “politicizing” the label, while others supported the effort and encouraged voting.
StopAntisemitism says its contest is meant to raise awareness about antisemitism and highlight what it considers harmful rhetoric or behavior. Voting remains open on the organization’s website, with results expected later in December.
