Privacy! What a concept! I agree that nothing legislative can be done about this crisis soon, but

thanks for the warning. We concerned citizens need to alert progressive lawmakers ASAP to get started on national legislation to correct the matter, and maybe legal public interest groups to help lawmakers formulate these hoped-for laws.

My recollection at the time is this was about tracking people's use of the "Back Room" in video stores... Now they just track you on Google.

Opt out? How about requiring a user to opt in? "Yes, you can sell my personal information" "I'll give it to you free so you can profit from it subjecting me to targeted advertising in the process."

Would people agree to it presented like this? Because it's presented as "Convenient" for the user...

That's exactly why Big Tech would never go for it. No one is going to say, "Yes, Evil Overlord. Please sell my information to everyone who will pay a dime."

Fascinating!!! Being way behind in the new contemporary visual age, I'm astounded about how well you explored the complexities of the entire genre. I'd love to see more information about how this has impacted various age groups, from teens to "blooming" adults, middle agers and especially we old codgers who still believe in the power of the Kindle, of course you have to read to appreciate.

Let's be honest. Who reads the User Agreement? It is long, legalese, and dense. Who knows what we have agreed to?

Congress, bribed by large companies, has sold out we the people again and again and, recently, the sell out is larger than ever.
