Students Revolt Over Erika Kirk’s Planned Phoenix High School Appearance
A planned visit by Turning Point USA CEO Erika Kirk to a Phoenix-area high school is drawing backlash just days before it’s set to happen.
Students and parents at Pinnacle High School are questioning why the political figure is being invited onto campus, with some calling the decision inappropriate for a public school setting.
According to KJZZ, Kirk is scheduled to speak April 24 during a “Club America” meeting, a TPUSA-affiliated student group. The event is limited to members and invited guests and will take place during lunch, with added security on campus.
But criticism is growing as details spread, with some families raising safety concerns and pointing to Kirk’s history of controversial appearances and recent threats tied to her events.

“The topics she talks about are too extreme for a school,” one student told The Daily Beast.
The situation reflects a broader push by TPUSA to expand into high schools nationwide, a strategy that has sparked debates over free speech, political influence, and the role of outside organizations in education.
In Arizona, the tension is amplified by recent scrutiny of Kirk’s activities, including a university complaint review and a canceled appearance tied to security threats.
School officials say federal law allows student clubs to invite speakers, but the backlash highlights the growing friction as political organizations move deeper into K–12 spaces.
For now, the event is still scheduled, with security measures in place and no indication it will be canceled.
