Another week has come and gone, which traditionally means we should pause, thoughtfully assess what happened, and put it all into some kind of coherent perspective. Unfortunately, coherence is apparently no longer included with our subscription to reality.
At this point, keeping up with the news feels less like staying informed and more like being trapped in an escape room designed by people who keep adding new rooms. So rather than spend another Sunday attempting to locate the boundary between current events and a rejected South Park script, we’re handing things over to the professionals. The internet.
Welcome, or welcome back, to the Sunday Funnies.
I, For One, Welcome Our New Robot Overlords
Remember when technology was going to eliminate all the boring work so humans could spend more time painting, writing, and enjoying life? Adorable. Where is my robot butler/housekeeper!?!
Only YOU Can Prevent Forests
Smokey Bear has reviewed the new policy and would like to update his résumé, preferably somewhere with trees. Only you can prevent forest fires because the federal infrastructure? snort
Democracy: Some Assembly Required
Ah yes, the deflection game. Wile E. Coyote had subtler plans.
Dude, Where’s My Superpower?
Did he just tell the truth? Strange. Hm. Look on the bright side: somewhere, a billionaire is going to have an absolutely fantastic quarter. We are still waiting on that trickle thing, right?
O Brother, Where Art Thou Going?
The party of support the troops is treating the troops to the latest blockbuster? Morale should shoot right up. A three-hour movie about a guy who spends ten years desperately trying to get home? Next week’s movie night: Gilligan’s Island.
That’s all for this week’s Sunday Funnies.
We’ll be back next Sunday with another carefully curated selection of jokes from a civilization increasingly indistinguishable from one, assuming, of course, the timeline hasn’t exploded by then. (Is it wrong that part of us is kind of hoping?)

The egotist claimed, "I alone can fix this." He's had more than enough chances to show he was wrong. Most of us know better ways to tackle the multfacted mess.
Hasn't trickled down to me. In fact it's like the middle of the desert. Hot and damn dry.
