This is an excellent synopsis of why we can’t have a nationwide walkout…at least at this point in time. But I believe that when people wake up and if we have a coordinated effort to do this, EVERYONE can’t be fired. So, perhaps there is hope.

what is wrong with activists here? We are losing everything to the fascists. My community comes out all the time, but we are a small town in Vermont. What does it take? Now that they have revived lynching- what more to people need? And will anyone be held accountable, or are we going back to a time when it was a punishment-free crime? At least as of yesterday, the state of Mississippi claimed there was nothing to see here. And forget the federal Injustice Department- they are too busy reviving the Red Scare, only with advanced surveillance equipment. Who needs rats when you have Palintier?

This reminds me of the "sickouts" in WV and KY among teachers - where, even against the wishes of the union leaders, teachers walked out/took sick days to protest salary and pension changes - but it only worked b/c teachers in very county did it - there's security in numbers, but if only one school or one county strikes, not much happens. I do recall political demonstrations on a large scale during Trump 1 - but it seems this version of Trump is doing more to quell resistance - and, the economy is less certain.

Citizens United was final nail in the coffin. Money equals voice that drives power. Who makes rules, people who get elected and makes the law and in turn create laws and appoint jurists that make it illegal to have unions among other things and given a chance will declare Democratic party a terrorist origanization. Please shutdown the government. We should no longer support a system that doesn't consider our opinions a part of their decisions. This breaks "We the People" paragraph in our constitution when the goal is to be Autocratic government.
