The Great Trump Tax Betrayal: How Billionaires Keep Winning and You Keep Losing
Trump promised tax cuts for workers. Instead, he delivered billions to the ultra-rich—again.
Donald Trump loves to talk about how much he cares about the working class. He’ll get on stage, throw on his best “I’m just like you” impression, and promise tax relief for hardworking Americans. No tax on tips! No tax on overtime! No tax on Social Security! Sound familiar? It should—it was the snake oil he was peddling on the campaign trail.
Fast forward to today, and those promises? Gone. Not even a footnote in the Republican tax plan moving through Congress. Instead, the focus is on extending the 2017 tax cuts—the same ones that handed billionaires a golden ticket while you got left with the scraps. It’s almost impressive how predictable this scam is.
Let’s be clear: If Trump or the GOP actually cared about workers, they wouldn’t need another term to prove it. They had four years with full control of the government. They could’ve cut taxes on tips. They could’ve eased the burden on overtime pay. They could’ve protected Social Security from future attacks. But they didn’t. Because that was never the plan.

The plan was, and always has been, to keep billionaires happy. The same people funding their campaigns, throwing cash at super PACs, and ensuring the system stays rigged in their favor. And what do you get? Higher payroll taxes, shrinking benefits, and a bigger bill at the grocery store while Wall Street gets another bailout.
Trump’s biggest con is convincing working-class Americans that he’s one of them. Newsflash: A man who gold-plates his toilet doesn’t know what it’s like to live paycheck to paycheck. He’s never worried about an unexpected medical bill. He’s never had to take a second job to cover rent. He’s never even paid his own bar tab, let alone tipped a waitress.
And yet, every few years, he dusts off the old act, pretends he’s your champion, and makes a whole new batch of promises. And when he inevitably fails to deliver? He’ll just blame someone else—Democrats, immigrants, the deep state, probably even windmills. Anything to keep you looking the other way while the real robbery happens.
So, the next time you hear Trump or his Republican enablers talking about how much they care about the working class, check your wallet. If it’s emptier than it was before they got here, you’ve got your answer.

What needs to be done is dox every billionaire so we know who our enemies are.
This has always been the plan - the 2017 tax cuts exploded the deficit - so, to the extent that anyone cares about the deficit, they should NOT want those tax cuts made permanent. The DOGE destruction will hurt families - those of federal employees and those who depend on the spending of those families. And, it will mean a less responsive government - all so the bottom line can be increased for the wealthiest among us.
