It’s important to have a fiscally responsible government accountable to the taxpayers whose funds are meant to be handled honestly and not squandered or misused by dishonest legislators.

Nobody wastes money like The Pentagon, well except The Fapweasel (Trump)!

Thank you, and yes, you're right, it's the system. However, we in Europe have a similar problem, albeit not quite as pronounced. At the end of the fiscal year, the money is spent regardless of what it's used for, because otherwise it expires. That's why your suggestions are very helpful to us. Thank you.

From this articles, we can see that the government is not very particular and precise about things like inventory, etc. Even in our personal lives, being sloppy in our money management may mean we don't have enough to pay rent, or we have not kept accurate income and spending numbers that could even mean we pay more taxes than we have to. I am tempted to conclude that this kind of sloppy record-keeping is something we are choosing, but we have not calculated the cost of that choice. That should be ultimately Congress' task, as they have to balance the costs of myriad expenditures.

Future generations will not praise Donnie, but he'll get a sidebar for accidentally setting the swamp on fire, forcing us to look at much-needed improvements - hopefully, assuming his cult doesn't succeed in bringing about the end of days.

This exposes the two party corporate duopoly system of government we have. They in all three branches of the federal government have no regard for the 98-plus percent of us who are the American working class's. The government opporates on the appeasement of corporations and their investors. It's a big FU to the majority population.
