Todd Blanche Denies Epstein Role in Bondi Firing, Blocks Further File Release
Todd Blanche is drawing a firm line on two of the biggest questions facing the Justice Department right now.
The interim attorney general said Pam Bondi’s firing was not tied to the Epstein files and made clear no more documents from the case will be released.
The comments come just days after President Donald Trump removed Bondi from the role following months of controversy tied to the department’s handling of the Epstein investigation. According to The Independent, Blanche said Trump “never” linked her dismissal to the issue.
But that explanation is colliding with a different narrative. Bondi faced sustained bipartisan criticism over delayed releases, heavy redactions, and conflicting statements about a supposed Epstein “client list,” which she later walked back.
Blanche also said the Justice Department has already released all required materials and should move on from the Epstein case entirely.
“So I think… it should not be a part of anything going forward,” Blanche said in a Fox News interview.

That position is being challenged. Lawmakers and critics argue the government has not fully disclosed all Epstein-related records, and some reports still tie Bondi’s firing to fallout from the case.
The decision to halt further releases could deepen distrust around one of the most high-profile investigations in recent years, especially as Congress continues to scrutinize the DOJ’s actions.
Bondi is still expected to testify before lawmakers, meaning the Epstein files controversy may not be over.
For now, Blanche is signaling a shift even as questions remain unresolved.
