Tom Homan Begging Democrats to Stop Anti-ICE Rhetoric, Warns: “I Don’t Wanna Bury Anybody Else”
Tom Homan on Saturday publicly begged Democratic lawmakers to stop criticizing Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and Border Patrol agents, saying that heated political rhetoric is making an already dangerous job even more perilous.
Speaking at an event in San Diego, the White House border czar acknowledged rising tensions around immigration enforcement, urging governors, mayors and members of Congress to “please stop” attacking agents in public comments. His plea confirmed rising conflict between federal enforcement leadership and Democratic critics.
According to Inquisitr News, Homan warned the language politicians use has real-world consequences for agents in the field, saying, “I don’t wanna bury anybody else” as he appealed for cooler discourse. Homan’s remarks were shared in clips on social media that circulated widely following the event.
The border enforcement chief’s comments add to a broader pattern this year of Homan warning that what he describes as anti-ICE rhetoric correlates with more threats and attacks against agents, remarks he made in prior media appearances.

Democrats, for their part, argue their critiques are aimed at policy and accountability, not individual officers’ safety and that oversight and transparency are core to democratic governance.
“I’m urging officials to be mindful that their words can impact real people and real risks,” Homan said in San Diego.
The dispute matters as immigration enforcement remains a central and divisive political battleground, with public safety, civil rights and border security all on the line.
Policy fights on Capitol Hill and in state capitals are expected to continue shaping how both parties talk about ICE and federal law enforcement.
What's next?
As January’s legislative session begins, observers will watch whether Homan’s plea changes how lawmakers frame the immigration debate.
