Trump Declares Khamenei Dead After U.S.-Israel Strikes — Iran Pushes Back
Donald Trump is claiming Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei is dead after a sweeping U.S.-Israel strike campaign, but key details are still contested inside Iran.
In a Truth Social post and later comments cited by the Associated Press, Trump said Khamenei had been killed and suggested the bombing would continue, calling it a turning point for Iranians.
Reuters reports Israel also said Khamenei was killed, with a senior Israeli official telling Reuters his body had been found, while Iranian news agencies Tasnim and Mehr reported the leader remained in command.

Overnight, Iran retaliated with missile launches toward Israel and multiple countries in the region that host U.S. forces, according to Reuters, as the Pentagon said there were no U.S. deaths or injuries.
Iran also warned the Strait of Hormuz was closed, a move that could jolt global energy markets if the standoff expands.
